Your stay at the Lakehouse
08What time are check-in and check-out, and how do we access the property?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Check-out is by 11:00 AM.
We’ll provide your four-digit entry code on the morning of your arrival. For Sunday-to-Sunday stays, arrive Sunday from 3:00 PM and depart the following Sunday by 11:00 AM.
09Can we bring our pets?
As pet parents, we understand how much your fur babies mean to you. Our six-year-old Labrador, Charlie, feels exactly the same way about her Lakehouse!
Although we love sharing the retreat with you, unfamiliar animal scents can be unsettling for Charlie when she returns. To keep her familiar space comfortable, we do not accommodate guest pets on the property. Thank you for understanding.
10What is included, and what should we bring?
Bring your personal essentials and any comforts from home that make you happy—we’ve taken care of so much of the rest. From cooking utensils and the spice cupboard to coffee and hot chocolate stations, freshly made beds, bath towels, beach towels, and extra blankets, the retreat is prepared to help you travel lighter.
You’ll also find books, magazines, games, and records to enjoy. Have a favourite game? Bring it along, or ask us what’s already on hand. Free driveway parking is available for up to 4 cars.
Explore All Included for the full details. If you’re unsure about anything, email us. Our house is your house, and we want it to feel that way.
11Which pantry items are complimentary, and which are available to purchase?
Our complimentary communal pantry holds a hand-selected collection of local flavours and favourites, refreshed each month and inspired by the season. Discovering what’s new is part of the fun—we like to leave a little surprise waiting for you.
Please enjoy what’s provided and be mindful that the pantry is shared, leaving enough for other guests to enjoy too.
Find something you love? Our on-site Wilson & Co. Pantry shop offers additional treats to purchase for your stay or take home. That strawberry jam might just deserve a second jar!
12Can we swim at the property, and what waterfront equipment is included?
Absolutely. Our waterfront has a sandy, shallow entry for enjoying the lake. Water depth and conditions vary; children should always be supervised around the water.
Inflatable paddle boards, a kayak, and life jackets are available for guests to use. There are also outdoor games, including cornhole and ping pong, for time back on shore.
13Is the tap water safe to drink?
Yes—the tap water at The Wilson Retreat is safe to drink.
House guidelines & departure
14What are your rules for visitors, gatherings, smoking, quiet hours, and fires?
Visitors and gatherings: all visitors and gatherings require our prior approval. Overnight stays are limited to the guests approved for your reservation; additional overnight visitors are not permitted.
Smoking: please use the designated outdoor smoking receptacles on the deck, away from the house. Keep smoke away from doors, windows, and indoor spaces.
Noise: please keep music and conversation considerate throughout the day, and keep noise low after 11:00 PM. We’re on a quiet lake, and municipal noise rules apply at all hours.
Fires: between April 1 and October 31, outdoor fires may only be lit between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM, subject to current restrictions. Always follow current township guidance and any fire ban, keep fires attended, and fully extinguish them before leaving. Your welcome book includes fire-safety guidance. Check the township’s current fire guidance before lighting a fire.
15What do we need to do before departure, and who can we contact during our stay?
There’s no departure chore list to work through. Pack your belongings and be ready to check out by 11:00 AM—we’ll take care of preparing the Lakehouse for the next guests.
Your welcome book is waiting at the retreat. It includes host and emergency contacts, hospital information, first-aid kit and fire-extinguisher locations, fire safety, the renters’ code of conduct, local bylaws, and recommendations for exploring the area.
You’ll also find a full kitchen guide explaining how to use the appliances. For questions during your stay, use the host contact details in your welcome book or email info@wilsonretreatandco.ca.
